Chimera Vol. 4 has been released // Apr 15, 11:13 PM

Congratulations to the Chimera Vol. 4 team; You have made a solid book.
For those Edinboro folks (past and present) who don’t have a copy yet, Chimera Vol. 4 actually consists of 2 separately bound books, back covers of which can be attached to each other through some nifty die-cuts. As you may have guessed, one of the books houses the literary section, edited by Michel Haider and Stephanie Domowitz, and the other houses art pieces. Openings of each piece in both books vary, and are designed for each writer/artist separately, based on the sketches which all featured in the book apparently were required to provide. One graphic maneuver which is easy to overlook but to me represents to hallmark of the book is round-cornered treatment of images. This device integrates them so well with the graphic style of the book that it makes even a thought of doing anything else silly. Those images belong to this book.

Very sober and solid type management is in nice complement to the exploding energy of images. It feels like Vaughan Oliver’s graphic sensibility has been elevated from the world of punk rock to the world of fine art in a unique way.
The type is set in Frantisek Storm’s quirky Tusar typeface. Printing and binding was done in Erie by Printing Concepts.
With Wren Dugan as Managing editor this year, organizational or editorial duties have been up to par. Again congrats to everyone involved and especially to Josh, Amy, Luke, Morgaine, and Ashton. You have my respect for staying different and having the capacity to carry out your visions.
By the way, the credits advertise a Chimera website but the URL is not mentioned anywhere. Google fails me too. What’s is it?
